Soil is Alive w/ Ewa Bednarczuk

June 15 :Nature Walk w/ Ewa

Join us as we explore the fascinating world under our feet with Ewa Bednarczuk - it's alive and full of surprises! Through hands on activities we will learn how to figure out the different soil textures, soil, permeability and organic content. We’ll also explore the astounding micro organisms that bring soil to life. We’ll make the connections between the diversity of soil microbes and ever important plant diversity in our gardens.

A wildlife enthusiast with 25 years of experience working as an expert in stewardship and ecology, Ewa’s experiences span a wide range of conservation biology initiatives. From working with endangered Echo parakeets in Mauritius, or the reintroduced flying squirrels at Point Pelee National Park, or working on prescribed burns on the rare tallgrass ecosystems of the Rice Lake Plains, Ewa has much knowledge to share. Ewa is a popular lecturer, an enthusiastic nature guide, and a member of the County's Natural Cover Working Group. Her goal is to encourage people to learn more about fascinating plants, starting with their names, and to form friendships with them. Bring a good pair of walking shoes, hat and sunscreen. 10-1130am/ $15 Sign up here.
